The Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung (BZgA) has published some initial results of a representative survey of women and men about their contraceptive behaviour and knowledge. The survey was conducted in December 2018.
It was determined as part of the study what contraceptive methods adult women and men use. The study was interested in the respondents’ information behaviour, their preferred sources of information and their knowledge on the topic of contraception.
A total of 992 sexually active women and men between the ages of 18 and 49 participated in the study. The survey was conducted with the help of computer-supported telephone interviews.
At its core the current survey is a repeat of the studies on contraceptive behaviour conducted on behalf of the BZgA in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
